Free Sunday Studio Admissions at Hunter Museum with library card

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — On the second Sunday of each month, you can get in for free at the Hunter Museum of American Art with a Chattanooga Public Library card.

Families can come from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and enjoy activities at the museum.

In these events, the organizations provide hands-on art experiences for people of all ages.

Today’s studio was titled “Creating in Nature’s Studio” with activities for the family.

The Chattanooga Public Library hosted interactive crafts for kids.

“We’re really excited to get out in the community whenever we can do it and it’s especially one of our favorite things to make sure that we’re working with our partners and you know, doubling our impact and reaching more people to let them know what resources and services are available with both of the community groups involved,” library Youth Services Supervisor Lyn Hunter said.

The library incorporates the theme of exhibits with their activities.

They created pressed flower bookmarks with laminating patches today.

In addition to their scheduled Sunday studios, there are also upcoming quarterly meetings with other community partners.

The library is currently in the middle of their summer learning program, and encourages people of all ages to get involved.
