40 years ago, the price of gas wasn’t skyrocketing the way it is now.

It was actually dropping, thanks to deregulation of the energy sector during the Reagan years.

The regulation came about after the gas shortages of the 1970s.

Still, you might be shocked how low prices would go in 1982… under the dollar line.
