From the Archives: 1994 Tales of the City

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Thirty years ago this week, we experienced a huge controversy over a TV show.

The show was a mini-series scheduled to run on public television called “Tales of the City.”

It told the story of sex and drugs in San Francisco during the 1970s. That included nudity and homosexual relationships.

WTCI management vowed to air the show but pulled it at the last minute.

So, for our Thursday Throwback, here is a look back at the controversy in 1994.
