From The Archives – Pops In the Park

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF-TV) – Before there was Pops on the River, we had Pops in the Park. The Chattanooga Symphony would perform a free summertime pops concert at Chickamauga Battlefield. But the Pops show at the Fourth of July was a special event in 1988.

The conductor of the Symphony had defected from the Soviet Union and he had a special appreciation of American Freedom as a result. Watch the video for his story from 1988.
