From The Archives: The 278th Returns from Iraq

Chattanooga (WDEF) This week From The Archives, we remind you just how long the war on terror has been going on.

This week is the tenth anniversary of some local warriors returning from Iraq.

The 278th Regimental Combat Team is based in Knoxville, but has squadrons throughout the state, including Dunlap and Monteagle.

So plenty of Tennessee Valley guard members served their time in Iraq.

This story was one of the first groups coming home to Camp Shelby in Mississippi, on their way back to Tennessee. 

Last week, the 3rd Squardron, 278th Armored cavalry Regiment held their 10th anniversary memorial service in Mount Carmel.

The once again honored the memories of Sgt. Paul Thomason & Staff Sgt. mark Edwards who both died during the deployment.
