Ft. Oglethorpe issues a boil water notice over e-coli sample

FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia (WDEF) – The city of Fort Oglethorpe has issued a “boil water notice.”

Yesterday, they got a sample of e-coli bacteria in the water.

They are now flushing the system and increasing their sampling to determine the source.

The city expects to have new samples back by this evening.

But for now, they need you to boil their water before consuming.

Bring all water to a boil for one minute, then let it cool before using.

Boiled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
