Gadsden mom charged with using heroin when she was pregnant

GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) – A Gadsden woman faces multiple charges after authorities say she used heroin while pregnant.

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin tells local media that 24-year-old Tarra Lynn Barron was arrested Feb. 8. Barron has been charged with chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed.

Entrekin says Barron admitted to using heroin while pregnant.

Barron also faces charges of drug possession and drug distribution.

It’s unclear if Barron has an attorney.
