Gang Members, Community Say “Stop the Violence”

Gang Members and residents of violent stricken parts of Chattanooga take a powerful stand against shootings.
Chattanooga Gang members met with the community at Olivet Baptist Church, inspiring others to stop the violence.
Then, more than 100 Alton Park residents came out to make their voices heard loud and clear.
They marched to the site where 28 year old Terrence Lebron Bivens was shot and killed this weekend.
They want the Chattanooga community to work together to make a change.
"Just look around how many deaths have their been how many killings have their been. It’s a lot of people dying a lot of people getting killed. A lot of people losing family members and loved ones over nothing," said Alton Park Resident Angel.
"It starts out here. This what we out here for.  You understand? We out here to show these young brother man we ain’t gotta pick up no more guns," said Alton Park Resident Jay.
When the gang members met, they came up with certain areas they need improvement.  It included better access to jobs, education and family enrichment, and addressing issues with police.
