Garmley Arrested by Dalton Police for Selling Meth
Angela Garmley is now in the Whitfied county jail charged with—-selling meth!
Forty year old Angela Garmley was framed two years ago when someone planted meth under her car, and then tipped off the sheriff’s department.
Garmley was cleared but two sheriff’s deputies and the man who planted the drug are now serving terms in federal prison for their part in the conspiracy.
Garmley says Murray county magistrate Bryant Cochran propositioned her, and then took revenge when she rejected his advances.
But the story took a dramatic turn when Garmley was arrested Tuesday at a Walmart parking lot for selling meth to an informant.
BRUCE FRAZIER, SPOKESMAN, DALTON POLICE DEPARTMENT "The investigation began probably in mid to late July. I don’t have the exact dates but you know it took place over the course of a couple of weeks."
But Garmley’s attorney, McCracken Poston, says he wonders if the charges are not the result of the fraterity of police officers just getting revenge on her for the downfall of the Murray county deputies.
MCCRACKEN POSTON, GARMLEY’S ATTORNEY "The question is..was Angie stupid enough to deal in methamphetamine …or were they stupid enough to arrest my client a second time? "
Poston, at the time of the interview admitted he had not seen the evidence against Garmley in Dalton.
MCCRACKEN POSTON "Its out of character, but at the same time under the law she’s innocent til she’s proven guilty. And we have three people in federal prison that have already set her up once."
BRUCE FRAZIER "I can tell you that this investigation has nothing to do with any other case, any other investigation."
Bryant Cochran was arrested in May of this year and charged with abuse of power.
He was also named in a civil suit now pending against Murray county by Garmley and Poston.
