Gas Buddy Forecasts Even Cheaper Gas in 2016

GATHERSBURG, Md (WDEF) – The GasBuddy website issues its annual fuel price forecast for 2016.

And their experts believe that Americans will spend less on gas for the fourth year in a row.

In fact, $17 billion less.

And that’s on top of the $134 billion we saved last year.

Predictions:

— The yearly price peak should hit in May around $2.70 a gallon, nationally.

— $3 gas should only hit the West Coast this year.

— Diesel’s yearly average will actually be lower than regular gas for the first time since 2004.

Of course, we’ll go through the usual pattern of rising prices in the spring.

Here is GasBuddy’s monthly prediction for the nation.

"We believe the global glut of oil and record level for U.S. crude oil inventory will maintain considerable pressure on benchmark crude prices.  Coupled with tepid demand from the world’s largest economies, that suggest the overall trend of recent years should continue, and that means favorable outcomes for U.S. consumers" says Patrick DeHann, head petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.
