Gators Coach Dan Mullen Wants Another Rowdy Swamp For Vols Game
The Vols last road win at the Swamp came in 2003.
And while the Gators are picked to win big Saturday in Gainesville, head coach Dan Mullen still desires a crazy atmosphere
to greet the Volunteers.
The Swamp is quiet after that raucous Bama-Florida game.
Now Coach Mullen wants it back to life against the Vols.
Said Florida head coach Dan Mullen:”All the Gator fans need to go maybe get some warm tea and lemon. Make sure their throats are refreshed. We need an even more racous environment this Saturday night. You know if they want to give me a mike in pre-game, I’ll go sing or do a little dance routine. Whatever we need if it’ll help people come. I’ll do what we need.”
Bet he won’t sing Rocky Top.
Mullen has been preaching against a let down this week.
Said Mullen:”We’ve got to come back. You don’t get much time to catch your breath with Tennessee coming to town, but that’s part of being in the SEC. We have to regather our focus. Our mindset. Got to get physically and mentally prepared to go play a really good football team here on Saturday.”
The Vols up-tempo offense has to have the Gators on alert.
Said Mullen:”They do a good job of getting the ball to play-makers in space of spreading you out. Playing with tempo and spreading the ball around. A lot of different guys will catch it on the team. They’re going to spread it to a lot of different people.”
How bout Florida’s offense.
Last year they lead the nation in passing.
Right now, they lead the nation in rushing.
Said Mullen:”I think statistics sometimes sway one way or the other a little bit earlier and balance out a little bit more as the year goes on. But it’s just us doing what our guys do well.”
