GBI & Walker Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating Halloween homicide

WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) —  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and Walker County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred late Thursday night.

Law enforcement was dispatched to 1694 Johnson Road in Chickamauga, Georgia.

Sheriff Steve Wilson stated the call came in around midnight.

The call was for a medical related issue.

Upon arrival, deputies found the victim shot.

The victim was later identified as Dakota Austin Bottomlee.

If heard gunshots in this area between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. October 31, 2024, investigators are asking they contact Detective Daniel Stephenson (706) 670-1938.
