Geoff Duncan switches parties, announces campaign for Georgia Governor

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Geoff Duncan was serving as the state’s Lieutenant Governor as a Republican when Donald Trump claimed the state election was rigged against him.

He was the most resistant Republican to the President’s claims.

Today he announced he is running for Governor of Georgia as a Democrat.

Duncan says he has never wavered in taking on Trump, so Republicans kicked him out of the party.

He faces a crowded Democratic field of former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, state Senator Jason Esteves and former labor commissioner Michael Thurmond.
