Governor candidate Stacey Abrams talks infrastructure in Chatsworth
UPDATE: After her appearance in Chatsworth this morning, Stacey Abrams was endorsed in her run for Governor by former President Barack Obama.
“I am so excited to endorse Stacey Abrams for Governor of Georgia. She’s not running a campaign built on division or distraction; she’s running to lead one Georgia where everybody has opportunity, and everybody’s voice is heard. And she’s got the record of building consensus that shows she can deliver – with good jobs, great public education, expanded Medicaid, and secure, affordable health insurance for everyone. In a time when too many folks are focused simply on how to win an election, Stacey’s somebody who cares about something more important: why we should. That’s the kind of politics we should practice. That’s why I’m proud to give Stacey Abrams my support.”
President Trump has already endorsed her Republican opponent, Brian Kemp.

CHATSWORTH, Georgia (WDEF) – The Atlanta woman that democrats hope will become the first black female governor of Georgia campaigned in Murray county this morning.
Stacey Abrams was at the Murray County Recreation Department for a campaign stop.
She is on a statewide tour talking about her jobs for Georgia Plan, including Dalton tonight.
Abrams is the democratic nominee for governor, facing Republican Brian Kemp in the November election.
Abrams was asked about the Inland Port now being built in Murray county to transfer good from Savannah Harbor to and from local companies.
“We have to start now. And part of the reason I’m talking so aggressively about infrastructure investment is that we have to think about 10 years from now…20 years from now..and 30 years from now. We do not have the luxury of waiting until its convenient or waiting until its done to start. We have to invest now and build for the future.”
Abrams will be in Dalton this evening.
