Georgia to Name Tide Defensive Coordinator Kirby Smart as Their New Head Coach

Georgia didn’t fool around with a long coaching search.
After firing Mark Richt on Sunday, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports the Dawgs will hire Bama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart.

The announcement could come as early as this Sunday.
UGA is likely waiting until after the Tide plays in the SEC Championship game on Saturday against Florida.
Smart played college ball at Georgia.
He has served as the Tide’s defensive coordinator the last seven years, but he has never been a head coach.
