Gilmer County School Bus Crash Sends 6 to Hospital

GILMER COUNTY — A Gilmer County school bus was involved in a single-vehicle accident on the morning of December 16.

The incident took place near Whitepath Road and Riverbend Road.

Five students and the driver were assessed on scene and transported to various hospitals with minor injuries, according to Gilmer County Schools.

Emergency personnel are on site assisting the Georgia State Patrol with the investigation.

The roadway is shut down in the area, according to the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office.
