Raquel Newton is the Dean of Students at Thrasher Elementary School.
She says, “Well, I can tell you that Miss B is new to Thrasher, and she is an amazing part of our team. We are so lucky to have her at Thrasher. Her students love her. She makes every lesson engaging and fun. And I hear that they really like her voices.”

The Thrasher Community has been so welcoming. The kids are great, the administration is great, my co-workers are great. Everybody here has been wonderful to work with.”
Lily Hallman is a 4th Grader at Thrasher Elementary School.
She says, ” I like about Miss Barton is that she’s just a really nice teacher in general. And she helps us when we get confused on stuff.”
Lucas Olson adds, “It’s just really fun. And you just get all do a lot of fun stuff too.”
Gabriella Jennings chips in, “She always like helps us with stuff. And we learn a lot of stuff. And we always get stuff done. And she’s really nice and it’s fun.”

Ms. Barton concludes, “I say they make it easy because they are so engaged. And they love to learn. They love to be a part of our classroom. They love to show that excitement every day. And that makes my job much easier. So, in the third grade I had a teacher who was just phenomenal, her name was Mrs Wilson. And she inspired me to just want to learn all the time and I wanted to do that for other students. I like being able to interact with the students, getting to know them. Um, they have such great personalities. They love to share stories all the time and it always brings me such joy to talk to them.”
We asked, “What do you want them to remember best about you!”
Ms. Barton answered, “I want them to remember that they were loved and that they were cared for. And that anytime if they need anything, I’m always here to help them with whatever.”
