Golden Apple Award: Debbie Rosenbloom, Chattanooga Valley

FLINSTONE, GA (WDEF) – Debbie Rosenbloom is the kind of teacher who never backs down from a challenge. She continued her own education to better serve the children in her class at Chattanooga Valley. For always remaining upbeat, no matter the challenge, we awarded Ms. Rosenbloom with this week’s Golden Apple Award.

Heather Culberson is the principal at Chattanooga Valley.

She says, “Miss Rosenbloom is constantly positive. She’s kind, everyone loves her. She is a friend to all. She welcomes every student of all learning styles in her classroom. And she is so patient and just funny. And we all need that um all of those things in a great teacher, and she is one.”

When asked to describe herself, Mrs. Rosenbloom says, “I’m a wife of 22 years. And a mom of two daughters, 19 and 15, a cat mom, and a teacher. It’s so rewarding. Um you know I work with students who do struggle. So, when they have their little breakthroughs it’s, it’s amazing. I just love working with the children. And um helping them out in their daily, daily lives.”

Hannah Peterman is the Family Engagement at Chattanooga Valley.

She says, “She is the epitome of the best teacher for sped education. She puts these kids first. She continues to grow her education to help make these students um have a better education themselves. And she puts them first and we couldn’t ask for a better teacher for these kids.”

Paraprofessional Mary Cooke says, “It’s always one step further with her. She’s always thinking, she’s in taking classes right now to further her education so that she can further help these kids.”

Paraprofessional Patty Austin adds, “She goes over and beyond a million to get what they need. The different programs, toys to have… breaks she goes over and beyond.”

Mrs. Rosenbloom concludes, “This is like a second career. So, I started a lot later than most people do, but it’s what I want. I should have done this a lot sooner. First, I want them to remember that I love them. And I believe in them. Um, they struggle some of them struggle a lot. But they have it in them and I want them to know that.”
