Golden Apple Award: Jennifer French, Alpine Crest Elementary

RED BANK, TN (WDEF) – Jennifer French is passionate about getting her young students at Alpine Crest Elementary off on the right foot in Math and Science, but she also has an infectious smile, a wonderful sense of humor and a dedication to create well-rounded learners.

Ashley Cross is the Principal at the Alpine Crest Elementary.

She says, “Ms. French is probably one of the most reflective teachers that I have ever known. She goes out of her way to seek out ideas and feedback and resources to make sure her students are successful.”

Ms. French describes herself this way, “Jennifer French is an educator, a person that loves teaching, and helping children and students, and I am a mother of three great children. My whole family is part of the education family. So, that helps, but I really just want young children especially to learn the love of Math and Science. Now, I teach Reading and everything else, but those are the two things that are my passions in life.”

Principal Cross adds, “She doesn’t hesitate to create individualized opportunities for her kids to do well wherever they are starting out, and she’s very collaborative and very resourceful.”

Ms. French chips in, “I really like getting to learn and know my students. I also like the collaboration and our schools. It is such a great school to work with and to work for. I want these kids to have a safe happy place to learn, and I just want to see them grow throughout the year.”
