Golden Apple Award: Jennifer Gregory

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Jennifer Gregory is just starting her career as a teacher.

But she’s been around education her whole life.

The math teacher at East Lake Academy is a second generation educator.

She works hard to make sure her students succeed.

“I always wanted to be a teacher. My mom was a teacher. So I’ve always been around education. My long-term goal is to be a mentor teacher or a master teacher, in a you teach program somewhere. So that’s kind of how I ended up here.”

Gregory believes that her students are the future, and she is showing them their potential.

“I just want them to succeed and for them to know that they can succeed. A lot of times kids don’t hear that they are capable of doing what they really are capable of doing. So I want them to
understand that they can do pretty much anything that they put their mind to, as long as they put in the hard work and believe in themselves.”
