Golden Apple Award, Jordan Reeves, E.L. Ross Elementary

CLEVELAND, TN (WDEF) – The best teachers make learning fun. Jordan Reeves has a gift for doing just that, and her students’ test scores continue to climb, and her commitment outside the classroom is also a big reason why she is such a successful teacher. See for yourself in tonight’s “Golden Apple Award.”

“Miss Reeves is an incredible teacher and I’m sure you can see that I’m here in her instruction. She joined us a few years ago and she has really just transformed our school with stem instruction and just some really innovative ideas that she’s brought to our school and we’re just so grateful for her,” Stephanie Stone, EL Ross Elementary Principal said.

“Jordan Reeves is a mother of three and a wife to a former military member a marine, is a fourth grade teacher who loves math and loves to bring hands-on learning and fun every day in this classroom,” Jordan Reeves, 4th grade math teacher at EL ROSS said.

Reeves says, “I had a lot of great teachers growing up and so I knew that’s what I wanted to do and I wanted to learn from these kids as well as them learned for me.”

“Miss Reeves, our teacher is a fantastic teacher that always teach us about a lot about fraction and multiplication and all the stuff and I really enjoyed doing all the stuff with her,” Obed Lainez, EL Ross Elementary 4th grader said.

“She… teaches me good stuff I need to know,” Tayla Tomashat, EL Ross Elementary 4th grader, said.

“She teaches me fractions and multiplication, Romana Kurochka, EL Ross Elementary 4th grader said.

“She’s a really fun teacher and she teaches us a lot about things every day,” Adelyn Garrity, EL Ross Elementary 4th grader, said.

“I believe that my teachers I had growing up, and my family really inspired me to want to be a teacher. I wanted to let students know that they have someone that they can depend on,” Reeves says.

Reeves continues, “I struggled sometimes in school as well, and so I wanted to bring it to a level to where everyone could feel successful for the future.”

“What do you want them to remember the most about you?” David Moore, News 12 Chief Photographer asked.

“That I… that I cared. And that  hopefully, I helped them see that there is a future that they can do anything that they set their mind to,” Reeves said.
