Golden Apple: Kathie Nolan

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Kathie Nolan’s work can be found all over Nolan Elementary.

The art teacher has been at the school for more than 10 years.

During that time, she has painted murals all around the campus with a medieval theme.

Principal Shane Harwood says Nolan, “Has touched the lives of so many students in grades “K” through five over the years. They not only learn different ways to do art and different things associated with art. But they learn to appreciate and love art.”

Nolan believes the arts are very important in developing a person.

Nolan says the school mascot is the Knights, and she thought it would be amazing if the kids could go to a school in a castle, so she painted the walls with castle themes.
