Golden Apple: Stacy Dodson
JASPER, Tenn. (WDEF) – Students and parents say Stacy Dodson is in the field of education for all the right reasons.
The second grade teacher at Jasper Elementary tries to make learning fun, while giving her kids goals they can achieve.
Kimberly Shurrett is the Principal at the school.
“Miss Dodson is a phenomenal teacher. We were so lucky to have her. She was a middle school teacher first, but she chose to come to our school a couple of years ago. She is absolutely one of the most innovative teachers that I know.”
Students say she’s not only a nice teacher, but she is there for them when needed.
Dodson says she was meant to be a teacher.
“I knew in high school that is what I want it to be. I’ve known very young and actually went out of teaching for a few months. And my heart led me back here.”
Dodson says she had many teachers growing up that were good examples, and models for her.
She is now helping her students reach their potential.
That’s why Stacy Dodson has earned this week’s Golden Apple Award.
