Gordon Lee Baseball Playoff Series Back On For Monday After Suspension

Chickamauga, GA-(WDEF-TV) The Gordon Lee baseball team got a bye in the first round of the playoffs, and then they got an unexpected bye in the second round.

All of the Class A public school playoff games slated for (yesterday) Thursday were suspended, due to a legal injunction. It centered around Charlton County, who violated a pitch count rule that led to a forfeit. That affected who was the rightful region champ and therefore playoff seeding. But now the playoffs have been rescheduled, and Gordon Lee will host Clinch County on Monday at five o’clock.

Said Trojans head coach Mike Dunfee:”It’s crazy that we are suspending it over five pitches or eight pitches. We’re suspending the whole, the whole thing over five pitches, and it really went this far when it’s crazy that it’s back to the original thing, and we could have played the last two days. You read things here and there you know. You can even read the court thing, but you don’t know all the facts about everything that’s going in. We’re just happy to be. We know when we’re playing. We’re playing Monday. We know now. Okay, let’s go.”
