Gordon Lee Baseball Team Advances to Class A State Title Game
Chickamauga, GA-(WDEF) The Gordon Lee baseball team beat Charlton Co 10-6 in game three of their state semifinal series on Thursday to advance
to the Class A state title game.
The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth.
Austin Thompson hit one to third, and the ball got past the third baseman for an error.
That allowed Noah Peterson to score from third to make it 1-0.
Then Drew McDaniel hit one that landed just fair down the left field line.
He doubled home Braxton Ledford to make it 2-0.
The Trojans got three runs in the inning.
Charlton Co answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, but then Gordon Lee took advantage of some errors and walks in the top
of the fifth.
They wound up scoring five runs in the inning with three scoring via walks.
That made it 8-2.
The Trojans went on to celebrate a 10-6 victory.
