Gordon Lee Returning to Former Classification
Chickamauga, GA-(WDEF-TV) Gordon Lee got back in the playoffs last season after posting a 6-5 record.
The Trojans are eyeing the post-season once again this fall only this time… in their old classification stomping grounds.
Gordon Lee enjoys the 30-in-30 spotlight.
Gordon Lee coach Josh Groce has simple advice for his team this fall.
Said lineman Jonah Davenport:”Like coach always says. Yeah. Practice like you’ve never won. Play like you’ve never lost.”
Coach also knows the secret to minimizing losses.
Said Groce:”Biggest thing is. I’ve always said it is won up-front. If we are doing our job up-front and getting better up-front, then we can have success.”
The Trojans will be a sophomore laden team.
Said Davenport:”I think team bonding. I think we are bonded together like glue. We have come a long ways. This group has been waiting for this moment, and I think we’ll do really good.”
Reporter:”How so?”
Said Davenport:”You’ll find out.” (chuckles)
Gordon Lee is back in their old classification dropping from class 3-A to 1-A.
Said Groce:”Now we’re back to single A again trying to keep up with different teams. A lot of people ask what are your expectations. I really don’t know at this point. I tell the kids is it’s about us right now. We’ll worry about the opposing team when we get to that week and try to fix those certain things we’ve got to get better at.”
