Gospel United Mission Christmas Eve meal for the Homeless.
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)- A Chattanooga Church will be providing a Christmas Eve lunch for the homeless.
The Union Gospel Mission will be serving Christmas meals to those in need from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center.
The Gospel Mission is asking for volunteers as they are needed to serve the dinners and distribute cold-weather clothing.
“For us it’s almost like a big family reunion because we see the same folks sometimes you’re after year after year and we get to see folks we haven’t seen in a long time. It’s really just a great opportunity. I love to be able to get back and that’s what most of our volunteers are there for the help and get back and try to spread a little bit of the Christmas cheer,” said Rector.
