Governor signs payraise for Tennessee teachers into law

NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Governor Bill Lee has signed the bill that he says will give teachers their biggest pay raise in Tennessee history.

He says the Teacher Paycheck Protection Act raises the minimum salary to 50-thousand dollars by 2026.

That’s a 15-thousand dollar increase from just four years ago.

The new law also keeps union dues from being automatically deducted from teacher paychecks.
