Green Shanty Road construction to last about 2 months
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A road in Hamilton County will see daily closures for eight weeks, or two months, starting next week.
Green Shanty Road will be closed from Sue Drive to Old Lee Highway, starting Monday, January 8.
The closures will last from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.
The mayor’s office expects the construction to take eight weeks, depending on the weather.
However, the road will be reopened each night.
The highway department said all residents will have access to and from their homes.
Green Shanty Road will have open excavations, though. This means drivers should give themselves additional driving time. Drivers should take alternate routes and avoid the area of Green Shanty Road when possible.
