Grocery worker accused of sexual assault and strangulation while on the clock
CHATTANOOGA,Tennessee(WDEF) – A Food City employee stands accused of sexually assaulting and strangling a co-worker while the two were on the clock.
Samuel Fisher, 18, of Harrison was charged with one count of sexual assault and aggravated assault.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by News 12, the incident happened Friday evening inside the Food City grocery store on Highway 58.
The alleged female victim told deputies that Fisher sexually assaulted her and strangled her while the two were working together in the deli section of the store. According to the victim, Fisher pressed his genitals against her rear-end while putting her in a choke-hold. The choke-hold reportedly caused the woman to struggle to breathe. The victim also told police that Fisher pressed his genitals against her back side numerous times.
According to the affidavit, a store manager was notified about the alleged assault prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Fisher was escorted out of the store by a deputy spoke to him about the allegations.
According to the affidavit, Fisher told the deputy that he did run against the woman but that the contact was accidental. He also admitted to police that he placed his hands around her neck but also said he was just playing around.
As a result of the statements that were given and facts obtained at the scene, Fisher was taken into custody.
Investigators are now looking to obtain possible video evidence of the alleged assault.
According to Hamilton County jailers, Fisher has already bonded out of jail on $12,000 bond.
His next court date is February 29.
Hamilton County court records show that Fisher was arrested back in October of last year for being in possession of a controlled substance. A judge ordered him to undergo a diversion program for six months and pay a $250 fine.
