Grundy County man arrested for reckless homicide

Altamont, TN (WDEF) – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office investigated the shooting death of 44-year-old Chad Killian.

It happened in a wooded area in Beersheba Springs on Northcutts Cove Road.

Investigators found that 45-year-old Robin Smartt Jr. was hunting with the victim when the shooting happened and was responsible for it.

A Grand Jury indicted Smartt Monday with one count of Reckless Homicide and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Smartt was arrested on Wednesday.

He’s being held in the Grundy County Jail without bond.
