Grundy County suspect arrested for drug overdose case in Monteagle

ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – Investigators have charged a Tracy City man in connection with a drug-related death in January.

William Henry Dove died from drug toxicity at a hotel in Monteagle on January 12th.

The TBI, Monteagle Police and Grundy Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.

On Monday, a grand jury indicted Bobby Jack Northcutt for Second Degree Murder.

Investigators say he provided the drugs to Dove.

The Grand Jury also indicted Travis Heath King on a similar charge.

Investigators say he distributed fentanyl that caused a Gruetli-Laager man to overdose in June of 2021.

Sheriff Shrum says “These cases are very tough and time tasking. Investigators from our agency with assistance from the
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were able to plug in all the pieces that resulted in these charges.”
