Gun scare outside Orchard Knob Middle School

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga police chased a suspect this afternoon who reportedly had a gun near a school.

It happened on the football field at Orchard Knob Middle School before 3 PM, but after school was let out.

The suspect, who the school system calls a student, fled into the community.

But the suspect dropped what the weapon before police caught up with them.

It turned out the weapon was a pellet soft gun.
