Hamilton Co. Commission begins Rural Road Safety project

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Commission and Mayor Weston Wamp are implementing the Rural Road Safety project.

This project is to improve roads like Snow Hill and Hunter Road.

County Commissioners believe those roads are dangerously narrow.

They say road safety is a top priority for Hamilton County residents.

“We don’t want one more person to get hurt or die,” said Commissioner Steve Highlander. “It does not matter if they are young or what their ethnicity is… Every citizen is important to us, and we want to meet their needs.”

Commissioner Highlander says there will be a public meeting next Wednesday to discuss other roads that need to be improved.
