Hamilton County Arresting More Drunk Drivers
Chattanooga (WDEF) – Hamilton County officials say state RIID grants are allowing them to arrest more drunk drivers here.
The Remove Impaired-Intoxicated Drivers along with federal funds allows them to fund traffic enforcement operations.
Since last October, Hamilton County increased their arrests by 7%.
That is 30 arrests, compared to 23 the year before.
The Sheriff’s office says there was only one fatality in the unincorporated areas of the county that was alcohol related during the period.
They believe the RIID grants and their enforcement programs are saving lives.
