Hamilton County deputies arrest juvenile who reported false shooter threat
SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A high school student reported a false active shooter threat at Soddy Daisy High School on Wednesday morning. Deputies have now arrested the juvenile responsible.
The school resource deputy took the teen into custody and transported them to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
Authorities are charging the teen with misuse of 911 and filing a false report.
Since the person is a juvenile, authorities did not release any identifying information.
The juvenile called in the false threat on Wednesday, September 6, at about 11:30 a.m.
They told the police department that there was an active shooter at the high school.
Police said they immediately responded and started investigating. They then determined the threat was false.
Since it was a false threat, no one was injured.
School has since resumed.
