Hamilton County deputies find teen missing deceased

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office provided an update that they found the teen deceased.

They said they are now conducting a death investigation.

“The HCSO would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of this young man during this difficult time. I know we all hoped for a different outcome to this tragic situation. As Sheriff, I would like to thank our detectives, deputies, and other many public safety partners who have diligently worked to locate this missing young man for the last two days,” stated Sheriff Austin Garrett.


HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a teen who they believe may be suicidal near Harrison, Tennessee.

The sheriff’s office said the teen is a 14-year-old white male. He is 5’6″ with brown hair, brown eyes and wearing a black hoodie.

They believe the teen left his home this morning on foot with a gun. The teen stated his intent to harm himself, the sheriff’s office stated.

As a precaution, authorities have put several nearby schools on a secure status. Those schools are Central High School, Harrison Bay Future Ready Center, Wallace A. Smith and Snow Hill Elementary.

Wednesday morning, deputies said they were searching the area for the teen, so they can provide assistance and care.

Authorities want to let the public know this is why they may see a heavy police presence in the area.

The HCSO will provide an update once they have located the teen.
