Authorities said 36-year-old Emory Letson is the suspect in this case.

According to Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assisted in stopping the suspect around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

Chattanooga Police had previously failed to stop the man. The sheriff’s office said Letson hit several vehicles and damaged private property.

Deputies attempted to stop him near the exit ramp to Shallowford Road on I-75 northbound. However, Letson continued to flee and traveled to Hamilton Place Boulevard, HCSO said.

A lieutenant with the sheriff’s office then conducted a PIT maneuver to finally stop Letson. Authorities said they forced him to the side of the road and boxed him in.
