Hamilton County Officials Warn About Scams Impacting our Area
Hamilton County is the latest police organization to warn about phone scams in our area.
The Sheriff’s Office says the scammers pretend to be local judges or court officials.
They say you missed jury duty or failed to complete some paperwork and must pay a fine.
The Sheriff says they may even us AI-generated voice technology to impersonate judges.
The warning says that officials will reach out to you by mail, not the phone, if you owe them anything.
And they will not demand you send them pre-paid debit cards.
Several area sheriff’s offices have warned about similar scams during the holidays.
