Hamilton County Party Chairs give their last remarks before Election Day polls open

Hamilton County Democratic Party Chair, Rachel Campbell, joins News 12’s Chip Chapman to discuss the change in voters’ energy and to encourage voices to be heard through the ballot.

Hamilton County Republican Party Chair, Mark Harrison, joins News 12’s Chip Chapman to share his confidence in his party and discuss the passion voters have for the presidential election.

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Election Day morning, both the chair heads for the Hamilton County Democratic Party and Republican Party came to the News 12 studio to give their last remarks to viewers before the polls open.

The Democratic Chair Head, Rachel Campbell, and Republican Chair Head, Mark Harrison, endorsed their respective presidential candidates. Both chair heads commented on the shift in energy and passion in voters this election.

On the ballot for Election Day, people will have a chance to vote on the U.S. President, congressional seats for both federal and state Congress, and local offices. For North Carolina, voters will also vote on their governor.

In Georgia, polls will be open from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. In Hamilton County, the polls will be open from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. In Tennessee, the operation of hours for polls varies by county.

To vote, registered voters must go to their assigned precinct as indicated on their voter registration card.

Voters will need to bring in a valid photo ID to be able to cast their ballot. For first time voters, they will need to provide proof of residency.
