Hamilton County student arrested for threats of violence
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Hamilton County school resource deputy arrested a student at East Hamilton Middle School on Friday.
The sheriff’s office explained that the arrest is related to social media threats made against the school on September 12.
Authorities are charging the student with threat of mass violence on school property or at school-related activity, and with false reports.
The sheriff’s office said the school resource deputy and Homeland Security Investigations Chattanooga conducted this investigation. Now, this arrest is a result of that investigation.
Since the student is a juvenile, the sheriff’s office has not released their name.
