“Happy Camper” Kevin Easley Enjoying Happy Days as a UTC Freshman

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) With a month and-a-half to go in the SoCon regular season, the Mocs Kevin Easley might be the front-runner for the league freshman of the year.
Easley currently leads all SoCon freshmen in scoring, and his head coach believes his numbers will only get better.

Kevin Easley arrived at UTC as highly regarded recruit, and it didn’t take him long to feel he was living up to his potential.
Said Easley:”When we scrimmaged Middle Tennessee. That’s a really good team in my opinion, so after that game, I played pretty well, and we got the ‘dub’.”
Said head coach Lamont Paris:”Where he has exceeded what I might have expected was is how he competes with guys that our physically stronger or quicker. He finds a way to level the playing field.”
Reporter:”How would you describe your game?”
Said Easley:”I will say like a Carmelo (Anthony) slash Tim Duncan type of player. That’s what people tell me.”
And Coach Paris might agree with Easley’s assessment of his game.
Said Paris:”I foresee a day where teams are really stressing over who will guard that guy.”
At 6’6, 223-pounds, Easley doesn’t look like a freshman.
Said Easley:”They’re just like. Your body is like a junior or something like that. I was like all right, thanks.” (laughter)
Easley’s stats look like a junior too.
He leads the Mocs in scoring at 15 a game.
He also leads the team in three-pointers made and rebounding.
Said Paris:”He really, really loves the game of basketball. I think you can tell in how he goes about his approach. I think you can tell it in that it drives him to work hard.”
Said Easley:”I’m taking it all in day-by-day. I’m a happy camper if you know me.”
Said Paris:”Just always seems to have a positive outlook on things. Even when it rains on him, he has a positive outlook.”
