Harrison Fire Leaves House in Ruins

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A house in Harrison was left in ruins and deemed a total loss following a fire on January 30, 2026.

The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) responded to the 6400 block of Spadewood Lane around 12:15 p.m.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office reported black smoke and fire coming from the garage and two sides of the home when they arrived.

Highway 58 VFD requested a Mutual Aid response for additional water tender trucks to the fire scene since the fire hydrant was over a mile away, according to the Office of Emergency Management.

No injuries were reported.

“The house is a total loss and probably valued at over $300,000. The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office.”

Chief Mark Hutchings

They say the homeowner was insured and will be staying with family.
