Some Harrison residents clean up after storms leave behind a mess
HARRISON, Tenn. (WDEF) – Eula Harris’ friend worked to get a limb off her roof Monday afternoon.
“After everything was over with, this is what was left,” Harris said pointing to the limb on her home.
The branch came down in her back yard during a storm that swept through her neighborhood while she was inside.
“I heard wind, sound like a train, and the next thing I know this tree was falling on my house,” Harris said.
Nearby neighbors just up River Oaks Road dealt with similar situations.
A tree fell on one home causing a leak from the roof.
And, just one house down leasing agent Ricardo Leveron met with a home owner to take a look at the branches on top of a home.
“This morning actually, there was an agent showing the house. It just went under contract two days ago,” Leveron said.
He shared some advice for home owners.
“If it happens to you I would say get out of the house as soon as possible, because it can be very dangerous and first thing to call 911 and a tree contractor or your insurance company so they can direct you to the right place or your realtor to tell you who to call,” Leveron said.
On Ramblewood Drive, the next street over, one family had a large limb down in their front yard.
Their neighbor Mandy Prince took pictures of a power line and smoke.
She said a limb fell onto the line, and the line eventually snapped.
EPB workers were able to fix the line and get power back working a little later.
Also in the neighborhood, a tree fell on the corner of a home.
That caused some damage to the roof covering the front porch.
