HCSO reports multiple school threats, three students arrested
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported multiple school threats on September 10, 2024.
The first threat occurred at Hixson Middle School.
Hixson Middle’s School Resource Deputy (SRD) was made aware of a student who said he was going to “shoot the gym up”.
The SRD obtained several statements from witnesses and a confession from the student.
The student was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, being charged with Threats of Mass Violence.
The second threat occurred at Red Bank Middle School.
At 10:45 a.m., the Red Bank Middle School SRD was made aware of a student who claimed to have a bomb in his backpack.
Students who were present and heard these statements, reported them to the SRD.
The student confessed to making the statement.
He was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center, and is being charged with Threats of Mass Violence.
The third threat originated from Soddy Daisy Middle School.
Around 10:45 a.m., the Soddy Daisy Middle School SRD was made aware by a school staff member, that a student threatened to “shoot the school up”.
The student was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with Threats of Mass Violence.
