Sheriff’s office searching for 2 home invasion suspects who fled

UPDATE:

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office provided more insight into a home invasion and shooting early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened just before 1:30 a.m.

Authorities said three armed suspects broke into a home, and the homeowner confronted them.

The homeowner and the suspects exchanged gunfire. One of the suspects died at the scene from a gunshot wound. The other two suspects jumped through a window and fled the scene.

The HCSO searched the scene but could not find the two suspects who escaped.

They are withholding identities of those involved during the investigation.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Early Tuesday morning, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office posted on X about a critical incident involving a shooting on the 6300 block of Shirley Pond Road.

According to the sheriff, deputies responded to a home invasion call near the Shirley Pond Road area.

During the incident, the suspect and homeowner exchanged gunfire.

The suspect in the incident died from their injuries. However, the homeowner was not injured.

Authorities have not yet identified anyone involved in the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing.
