Here’s your Georgia Primary Survival Guide for tomorrow’s election
WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – Tuesday is primary day in Georgia. So here is a look at what you need to know before going to the polls.
- Polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- Democrats and Republicans are picking their slates for the General Election in November (except for the Presidential Race that was held earlier)
- There are also some non-partisan races, school boards and state judges
- Pro Tip: Each primary ballot will have several “questions” from your party of choice. These are NOT official referendums, just a poll for the party leaders. You can skip them if you want.
- Pro Tip 2: Whitfield and Catoosa Counties have “real” referendums at the very end of the ballot… don’t miss them… on liquor by the drink, Homestead tax and a SPLOST.
- Pro Tip 3: You can find a sample ballot for exactly what you will be voting on by clicking here.
Here are some of the races we’ll be following on Tuesday:
Democrats will pick a challenger for Marjorie Taylor Greene in Congress.
Republicans decide a challenge by Angela Pence to State Senator Colton Moore
Walker, Whitfield and Murray Counties are voting in sheriff races.
While the voters will have the final say in the Catoosa County Republican challenge, the local party leaders have fought to kick several of the candidates off of the Republican ballot, claiming they are not “real” Republicans. They lost in court, so the names will be on your Republican Primary ballot.
We’ll have the results tomorrow night on WDEF News 12.
