HES and McKamey scam calls requesting credit card information
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Humane Educational Society and McKamey Animal Center have reported a scam call.
The caller is going by the name “Daniel Taylor” and is claiming to have has a lost, injured pet.
The caller also says that the animal cannot be operated on without credit card information.
Thankfully, the person receiving the call declined to give out any information and the caller has been reported local authorities.
“Neither HES nor MAC will ever ask for direct payment up front for care. Animals receive emergency care immediately. If a pet has a known owner, we will put the emergency clinic directly in touch with the owner,” says Executive Director of HES, Rebecca Bryan.
If you or someone else receives this kind of call, contact the emergency line at 423-624-5302 and follow the prompts for an animal emergency.
