Hiker and two dogs rescued after falling 100 feet

A hiker and two dogs were rescued on Tuesday March 24, 2026 after falling into water near Gray Bluffs.

A hiker with two dogs had slipped and fell 100 feet into the water, according to the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department.

They say boat 1 was launched and was in route to the hiker and his dogs.

Once found, they were transferred to Marion County Park where he was assessed by Puckett.

The hiker declined transport to the hospital.

All parties involved were not harmed.
