Hixson man faces charges for firing gun at woman, kids
HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Hixson man has been arrested for a domestic violence situation in which he shot a gun at a woman and two kids.
The incident happened on December 1 at a home on Hickory Woods Lane, according to an affidavit.
Chattanooga police officers then arrested 27-year-old Cameron McDuffy on December 3.
According to the affidavit, McDuffy was acting erratically and waking up the children. He and the woman started arguing and she then told McDuffy to leave. A little while later, the woman and two kids decided to leave the home.
As they were in the car, McDuffy repeatedly tried to enter the car, but the doors were locked. The affidavit says as the car was pulling away, McDuffy fired three shots into the car.
Chattanooga officers then filed warrants for his arrest and booked him into the Hamilton County Jail a few days later.
Records on the jail’s website state that McDuffy faces the following charges.
- 3 counts of attempted first degree murder.
- 2 counts of aggravated child abuse.
- Vandalism/malicious mischief.
- Possessing a firearm with intent to go armed.
- Possession of a firearm during a felony.
- 4 counts of drugs general category for resale.
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
